This is part of Michigan’s Huron-Clinton Metropark system. Kensington itself is, “4,481 sprawling acres of wooded, hilly terrain surrounds[ing] beautiful Kent Lake”. It is a big park on the outskirts of the Detroit Metro area. The amount of outdoor activities you can do at this park is astounding and it’s a quick trip over to it....

Miscarriage: A Culture of Silence Helps No One

Julie and I have experienced a miscarriage. We found out we were pregnant in early November. On Thanksgiving, an episode occurred that demonstrated Julie’s life might be in jeopardy as well as the life of the baby. Leaving North Carolina

I have accepted the position as Manager, Infrastructure & Operations at Bankrate in Detroit. Julie, Max, Sunny, and I will begin moving to Michigan in mid-June! I will be leading DevOps efforts as the Bankrate team transitions software stacks and moves from on-premise data centers to the cloud. I am beyond excited about the position and the work I will be doing. Making the decision to leave North Carolina did not come easily....

Ear Piercing Analysis: Average Age and Additional Data

My daughter, Aubree, laid into me hard today about getting her ears pierced. Aubree, her mother and I had a fairly long conversation about it this afternoon. Which ended with me having to consider it; not think about it but, honestly consider it. All decisions I make require some data.
