Was the app icon really that big a deal? At least Yahoo is listening!

The app icon wasn’t a big deal but hopefully there are real performance gains because Yahoo! Weather is rather slow compared to SkyMotion and Intellicast.

As I mentioned previously, shared Twitter accounts won’t benefit from the modest two-factor authentication protection Twitter has offered up. Another step has to be taken to make this work and it’s likely not a priority.

It’s probably time the Department of Defense relents on its use of Common Access Cards (military ID badges) for access to computer systems. Instead they should probably opt for a two factor authentication system that relies more heavily on software (ala Google Authenticator). Carrying around a device for communication and then another device for authentication and authorization (Bluetooth CAC Reader) seems awfully silly these days.

How much e-mail do you store that’s over 180 days old? Quite a bit I’d imagine. Did you know that the government could obtain that without a warrant? Pretty messed up, huh? Some high ranking officials want that to change, but they’re meeting resistance.

I thought about playing with clustering a few days ago. Beowulf was rather new when I was in a place to use it and never ended up taking the time. The fact this guy got Raspberry Pi cluster up and running for research is awesome. I was thinking four or eight nodes; 32 is pretty awesome. 10.13 GFLOPS for $2000 is pretty good.

Saw a chiropractor today, Dr. Alisha Davis. She has found some significant alignment issues in my cervical and thoracic spine. But, the most unusual part of the visit was that she thinks there is a rib head out of place. She put my scapula and shoulder back in place and the rib as well. Words can’t accurately describe how I feel right now. I hurt but, I think it’s okay. Just don’t make me laugh that’s uncomfortable right now.
