I had the honor of finally meeting the founder of Pin Ups for Vets, Gina Elise and volunteer (and pin up as well) Cheryl Mallare. Pin Ups for Vets is a non-profit organization dedicated to boosting the moral of hospitalized veterans and active duty service members. Through World War II inspired pin up calendars Gina has sent many reminders as to who and what veterans have fought or are fighting for. Gina and other Pin Ups for Vets volunteers have criss crossed the country visiting VA Hospitals and military installations to deliver donated calendars and other goodies.
I have supported Pin Ups for Vets since the first year of its existence. Through her leadership and perseverance Pin Ups for Vets has gone from a great idea to a fantastic non-profit organization. Gina and Pin Ups for Vets volunteers have visited VA hospitals in 25 states and put countless smiles on people’s faces. I am very proud to call Gina a friend and even prouder to support Pin Ups for Vets.
